Hi and welcome to the forums. Yes, this is how you start a new discussion. Perhaps it would be good if you told us a bit about yourself. I have been on the forums for 4 years now and have made quite a few e-connections in that time. I am in my 50's and am married with 3 adult kids. They have all moved out of home. My youngest might come back next year but I just need to wait and see. She is hoping to stay where she is. Have you done anything fun today?

π we are certainly at different ends of our parenting journey! One of my other βhang-upβsβ of being an βolderβ mum in a young / new area.
we moved regional to the beach in Vic and Iβm yet to find authentic connections- itβs almost been 5 years. So feeling lonely while trying to navigate perimenopause + ADHD diagnosis. Iβve been doubting, questioning, second guessing and overthinking way too much. I just want to find someone close by to rely on.

@ALotGoingOnMum π looking forward to getting to know you more. π
I don't envy anyone the stress and fatigue of having a child - let alone more than one and working. I am actually grateful i dont feel any need to have a child myself, as I know I would not cope well having to look after infants or young children 24/7.
I've done volunteer work with ~13yo youth the past 3 years though, as a way to support them and contribute back to the community. π
I have a number of friends with ADHD (or suspected ADHD in some cases). Different friends have responded really differently to it. For example, one friend is reading a lot about it nd trying out lots of behavioural adaptations to see what works best for them. Another one decided to take medications to help focus, but isn't interested in behavioural aids/tips. Another one still just ignores it and whilst they're aware of it they don't do either medication or behavioural adaptations.

Woohoo! You did it @ALotGoingOnMum
It's be great to get to you know you a little more π
My name is "tyme" - a blend of the herb, 'Thyme', and the word 'time'. My real name is related to thyme and the idea of 'time' always amazes me - no matter how young or old we are, time does not discriminate. Babies, adults, elderly, plants, animals all have 24 hrs in a day, 60 mins in an hour, 60 seconds in a minute...
I like hanging out on the forums. I've been here for many years now. I started off as a regular member, then a volunteer, and now a community lead.
I've had my fair share of mental health challenges, and hence I find this place so authentic.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Ahh I've never read the story of why you chose your user name @tyme ! Tempting to joke about calling you Herb/Herbet π€πππ₯°. (I have a cheeky sense of humour @ALotGoingOnMum , but always well intent and try to adapt to make sure it won't offend the person I'm speaking to ππ).
I think i forgot to mention abit about me?
I don't mention my specific region, but I am in south-east Australia, but have lived a few places in the past.
I like animals, incl other people's pet or animal photos. I have 2 very tall dogs myself.
I like travelling, and am actually going away for a few weeks next week (so I will be absent from the forums during that time).
I like the idea of crafts, but like doing it with company. But no long have people to do it with so I haven't done much it for years.
I work part-time in an IT-related field within the health industry.
